Patty Markley is the Principal at Markley Strategies LLC, a full-service government relations, advocacy, and association management firm.
Patty is a former state legislator, serving District 8 in the Kansas House of Representatives from 2017-2018. Prior to serving in the legislature, she was a full-time parent, community volunteer, and member of the Prairie Village, KS City Council. Her previous experience includes work as a not-for-profit executive with the Union Station Assistance Corporation in Kansas City, MO, and as a staff member for US Senator John C. (Jack) Danforth in his Kansas City district office and as a staff member on the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation in Washington, DC.
Patty serves in variety of community leadership roles including as a Board Member for United Community Services of Johnson County (2020-present), the UMKC Women’s Council (2021-Present), and ConsensusKC (2019-present). She is a member of the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce’s Public Policy Committee. She has served on the KS Governor’s Council on Travel and Tourism, as President of the Oak Hill Elementary PTO, on the Pembroke Hill Arts Council Board, and Chair of the Statewide Public Policy Committee of the Junior League of Kansas City, MO. She is a graduate of Leadership NE Johnson County.
Patty is a graduate of the University of Missouri and lives in Overland Park, KS with her husband Brian, an attorney, and their two daughters, Jane and Ella.
